What are your Covid-19 Health and Safety measures?
We take the ongoing coronavirus pandemic very seriously. We have been closely following government guidance, obeying lock-downs and staying within the current tier system. We require every person that enters our premises to clean their hands on entry and wear a face mask for the entire duration of their visit – even whilst playing the game. These measures hugely decrease the risk of contamination in the rooms. We have changed our game schedule to allow more time in between each team for deep cleaning, we sanitize every puzzle element with anti-viral wipes and spray every surface with anti-viral cleaner. Our hosts will stay two metres away from you at all times and we ask that all players treat them with the same caution and respect.
As a result of these measures we are confident that our games are a very low risk environment. We have been awarded the “Good To Go” badge by the National Tourist Board of England.
If we are required to close again in future due to another lock-down then we are guaranteeing postponements until we safely can open again. As with all small businesses, postponement is preferable to cancellation – but we do understand that this is not always possible and so will provide a full refund to anyone who cannot postpone their booking. We are also offering postponements to any teams who have members showing Covid symptoms or who are required to self-isolate, just let us know as soon as you are able and we can re-arrange for you.

What is an Escape Room?
Pretty much what it says on the tin – you and your team are locked in a room for 60 minutes, you have to solve the puzzles, riddles and the mystery to get out in time. We are currently running two rooms in Exeter – “The Shadow Darkens”, a 1940s detective mystery, and “The Heist”, a 1970s museum robbery. We are opening a second branch in Torquay in May 2019, which will begin with a 1980s adventure called “The Strange Disappearance of Arthur Moon”, soon to be followed by our latest game “On the Last Train to Paris”.
When can we come and have a go?
We are open Tuesday to Sunday every week. Check out the booking calendar to see what’s available.
How much does it cost?
Prices start at £15 per person. Full pricing details are listed on the booking page for each room.
Who is it for?
Pretty much everyone! Great for birthdays, stag or hen parties, team building events – or just any group of people who like to have fun solving a mystery.
Is it suitable for children?
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 6 can play for free (but still count as one of your team members! The maximum is still 6 people)
Can I bring more than 6 people?
We cannot put more than 6 people into one room. There are no exceptions to this. If you have a party of more than 6 people, then we would advise looking at booking both rooms simultaneously. If you have a group of 15 people or more, then drop us a line as we may be able to arrange a large group discount.
Is this suitable for people with limited or no English?
The nature of the puzzles in escape rooms generally means they are usually suitable for anyone regardless of language – however, as our rooms are often very story and scenario based they tend to require more reading and comprehension than a standard game. We would recommend that teams have at least one member who is fluent in English to get the most from the experience.
Do you have parking?
We don’t have our own car park at either site as we are based in the centre of town. However, there is plenty of parking nearby – Smythen Street is closest in Exeter, and Fleet Walk car park in Torquay.
I’m trying to book but it says I need PayPal. I don’t like PayPal, is there some other way?
Absolutely. Whilst PayPal provides our payment gateway, you don’t actually need to have an account with them (although it is easier).
Using a PC or other desktop device: Checkout as usual, but when you arrive at the PayPal login screen, select the second option to pay with a credit or debit card. This will take you to a secure page where you can enter your card details as you would with any secure online transaction. No account required.
Using a mobile device or tablet: The above method does not work on a mobile device, for reasons that are unclear to us. We suggest either using a desktop computer, or just creating a PayPal account (they really are quite handy). If this is not an option then give us a call and we can work something out for you.

What is your cancellation policy?
We allow cancellations for any reason up to 48 hours before your booking time. Please get in touch with us as soon as you’re able if you wish to cancel. After the 48 hour window has passed we will not provide a refund to cancelled or missed bookings except in extenuating circumstances. This is at our discretion. Gift Voucher bookings are non-refundable, but if you cannot attend your booking then let us know up to 48 hours in advance and we can cancel your booking and restore your unique voucher code for use another time.
Please also be aware the at the moment we are allowing postponements at any time for people showing Covid Symptoms or who are required to self isolate.
I have a voucher and I don’t know how to redeem it
