RED HOUSE MYSTERIES • EXETER
Red House Mysteries was founded in 2016 by Mark Nicholls and Ben Pering. In 2023, the company was acquired by Lock and Code Escape Rooms. Matt, the owner of Lock & Code, had been a long-time player of Red House games and was honoured when he had the opportunity to bring Red House into the Lock and Code family.
Matt has developed nearly thirty escape rooms across Lock and Code locations in Weston and Taunton, plus various museum installations. The company also produces boxed and digital games.
Our rooms are intense, narrative-driven puzzle games: one team, one hour, one room, with one exit door. Use your wits to follow the story, solve the riddles, use the props and uncover the secrets — if you’re good you’ll escape before the timer runs out!
We run our rooms for teams of 2 to 7 people, so they are suited to everyone from stag parties, birthdays, and office team building days to couples looking for a more interesting date. Families are also very welcome.
“The narrative of the story along with the incredible room props really help you to travel into the era and become part of something that feels suspenseful and exciting.”

“The highest quality in every way… the setting was totally immersive, believable and atmospheric, the hour evokes excitement, challenge and satisfaction.”
